The bell rings at 8.30 am and 12.55 pm to tell pupils that school is about to start. Pupils should enter the building as soon as the bell rings.
During break-time, between 10.55 and 11.15, the canteen will provide various healthy snacks, at a reasonable price, and there will be access to vending machines. Parents are requested to reinforce our rule that no child will be permitted to leave school at break-time.
Pupils in Years 7 – 9 are required to remain on school premises during lunch-time.
All pupils should have a meal at midday; concentration on work during the afternoon is otherwise impaired. Cantonian is committed to offering healthy food and to encouraging pupils' well-being.
Healthy meals are available in the school canteen. A variety of hot and cold food and drinks is provided, at a reasonable price, and there will be access to vending machines. Packed lunches can also be brought to school and eaten in the canteen.
Free school meal forms are available from the Junior Schools who will then notify Cantonian High School of continuing free meal entitlement. For pupils entering Cantonian part-way through the school year, these forms are available from the main office. If in any doubt, please contact Mrs Anne Kelly at the school. Additional forms are also available from the school. If you are entitled to free school meals, you may also receive a uniform grant.
